WIN Energy REMC has announced its latest groups to get funding from Operation Round Up dollars. The funds are made possible by WIN Energy customers rounding up their bills to the next highest dollar.
Eight different organizations got money in this round of grants. The largest award was ten-thousand dollars, given to the Knox County Soli and Water Conservation District. That cash will go for rafts, paddles, and life jackets for its Wabash River Expedition. Also, the Steen Township Fire Department is Wheatland will use five-thousand dollars for portable radios for their firefighters.
Other award winners included Carlisle Elementary and Junior High; Dream Builders; Gibson County Habitat for Humanity; the Sullivan Baseball League; and the Union Fire Department. Overall, WIN Energy provided over 34-thousand dollars in this funding round.
