Washington Community Schools Receive $250 Teaching Innovator Grant

Washington Community Schools received a $250 second-semester Teaching Innovator Grant for the project “That’s Not My Monster.  The grant was provided by Daviess County’s Our Community Foundation.

Kim Conder, Washington Elementary Art Teacher, accepted the award and was named a Teaching Innovator.

First-grade art students will create monster drawings inspired by Fiona Watt’s book, which upper elementary students will then turn into three-dimensional stuffed creatures through basic sewing techniques.
