A bipartisan duo in Congress is calling for stricter federal laws following a negligence verdict against Meta and YouTube. Representatives Erin Houchin of Indiana and Jake Auchincloss of Massachusetts say while the court victory is a win for child safety, litigation isn’t enough. They are pushing for a federal age assurance law to raise the age of “internet adulthood” to 16 and hold social media corporations liable for the exploitation of minors.
