Helen Agnes “Deckard” Crowley, a cherished mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away in her hometown of Vincennes, Indiana, on March 7, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on March 28, 1933, to parents Adrian Roscoe and Martha Josephine “Warner” Deckard, Helen’s heartwarming presence and compassion enriched the lives of those around her.
As a young woman, Helen graduated from high school and pursued further education at college. Helen embraced the role of a homemaker, diligently creating a loving home for her family. She later shared her skills as an Office Manager/Bookkeeper for Deckard and Sons Heating and Air Conditioning, where she was a valued member for many years. Her diligent work ethic and commitment to her family’s business was admired by all.
Helen’s enthusiasm for life was encapsulated in her hobbies. With nimble fingers and a creative eye, she loved to sew and knit, transforming threads into treasured keepsakes. Her culinary skills were unrivaled, and jigsaw puzzles were constant companions that nurtured her curiosity and intellect. A woman of faith and fellowship, Helen was a founding member of Westminster Reformed Presbyterian Church, where she dedicated her time and talents to nurturing a community bound by love and spirituality.
Helen was blessed with a beautiful family and is lovingly remembered by her children, Steven Crowley (Jayne Anne), Mark Crowley (Ruth), and her daughter-in-law, Lissa Crowley. Helen’s legacy continues through her five grandchildren, Nicholas, Andrew, Alyssa, Evelyn, and Curtis Crowley, as well as her five great-grandchildren, Camden, Joscelyn, Madelyn, Silas, and Nash.
Though she has now joined her parents, her son Thomas Crowley, and her brothers, Eugene and William Deckard, who all preceded her in death, Helen’s radiant spirit will forever be remembered by her family, numerous nieces, nephews, and the friends she so dearly gathered along her journey.
Helen lived a life grounded in love, commitment, and service to others. Her resilience, kindness, and warmth will be profoundly missed.
