After 18 years heading the North Knox Lady Warrior program, head coach Steve Meurer is planning to step down as the team’s leader. The letter spelling out his intentions has been sent to the North Knox School Board for their potential acceptance.
Meurer will retire with 445 overall wins in 30 years of coaching at North Knox, Dugger Union, and North Daviess high schools. Of that total, 310 of those came at North Knox, including three semi-state appearances—in 2014, 2023, and this year, in 2026.
North Knox School Board members will look for his successor, if they accept the resignation at their next scheduled session later this month.
