A Beech Grove policeman is dead and another is injured after being shot in the line of duty. Beech Grove is an enclave of Indianapolis in southern Marion County.
The shooting happened last night, when the officers were checking on a domestic dispute. During the incident, a man fired gunshots, hitting the two officers. One of them, Officer Bryan Elliott, died from his wounds. The other policeman is in stable condition at an Indianapolis hospital.
The man accused of the two shootings is 47 year-old Ken Johnson. He was arrested around four hours after the shooting. No other information has been released; the Indiana State Police are leading up the investigation at this time.
