Gail Lynne McClure, born in August 1950 in Knox County, Indiana, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. A modest, simple, and deeply caring woman, Gail devoted her life to the people she cherished most. Her gentle spirit and unwavering love made her a steady presence to all who knew her.
Gail spent her entire life in Knox County, where she grew up, raised her family, and built a life rooted in kindness and quiet strength. She found joy in the simple pleasures—mushroom hunting in the woods, crafting with her hands, tending to her garden, and nurturing the many plants she loved.
Whether she was coaxing new blooms to life or sharing cuttings with friends and family, Gail’s green thumb was one of the many ways she expressed her patience, creativity, and care. She also enjoyed playing games, especially when surrounded by the people she loved.
A woman of faith, Gail attended St. Phillis Neri Catholic Church in Bicknell, where she found comfort, community, and spiritual grounding. She is preceded in death by her parents, Naomi Holscher and Clarence Holscher, and her friend, William Leslie McClure.
Gail is survived by her daughter, Heather Anne McClure of Bruceville; her granddaughter, Harley Danielle McClure of Illinois; her sister, Carolyn King of Huntingburg, IN; and her brother, Michael Holscher, and his wife, Angela, of Oaktown, IN. She will also be remembered fondly by extended family members, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her kindness.
Gail will be cremated, and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date, allowing family and friends to gather in her honor and share the memories she leaves behind.
The family of Gail Lynne McClure extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Your kindness brings comfort and reminds us how many lives Gail touched with her gentle spirit.
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
