Vincennes Water Utilities officials are considering a rate increase possible sometime next year. If it happens, it would be the first increase on V-W-U customers since 2016.
Vincennes Water Utilities general manager Kirk Bouchie believes the increase is needed to cover its normal operating cost. Bouchie also feels the increase is needed to handle major utility project needs through the next few years.
Any rate increase will need to be approved first by the Vincennes Water Utility board. After that, it must also be approved by Vincennes City Council to go into effect.
