With colder weather coming as early as tomorrow, those eligible should consider applying for the PACE Community Action Agency Energy Assistance Program. Applications for the 2025-2026 Energy Assistance season will be are available now, with some families already receiving benefits to help with heating expenses.
Lisa Ritterskamp is with PACE. She reminds everyone the help is there if you need it and qualify for it. Even if you are not sure whether or not you qualify, PACE officials encourage you to fill out an application. Ritterskamp says there are many ways to do that.
PACE serves people in Knox, Daviess, Greene, and Sullivan counties in Indiana. The benefit will be a one-time credit toward the heat source you use most. That can include electric and gas bils, or supplies for wood-heated homes.
