The Vincennes Police Department successfully kept its force intact, despite a lateral hiring campaign by the Indiana State Police. V-P-D chief Jon Hillenbrand tells us despite an attractive pay package, all his eligible officers decided to stay here.
The action is a reversal of the Department’s lateral losses to other departments in recent years. City officials credit a good level of pay increases over the last few years as a major incentive for Vincennes Police officers to stay at home.
