Barbara Hewitt passed away on October 17, 2025, at the age of 73 in Vincennes, IN. Born in Evansville, IN, on April 20, 1952, Barbara’s legacy is marked by her unwavering kindness, resilience, and the joy she brought to all who knew her.
A devoted mother and matriarch, Barbara’s pride and joy were her family. She is survived by her loving children, Fred, Keith, and Brian Bye, whom she loved dearly along with her adored six grandchildren and a precious great-grandchild. Her steadfast presence and loving guidance will forever be remembered and deeply missed. She also leaves behind her three brothers, Steve, Mike, and Vernon Spindler, who will hold dear the memory of her unwavering strength and compassionate nature.
Preceding her in passing were her parents, Raymond and Mary Lee “Montgomery” Spindler, who instilled in her the values of hard work and dedication to family that she carried throughout her life.
Barbara was a graduate of her local high school, where she formed many lifelong friendships and demonstrated a commitment to excellence and community that would characterize her entire life. She was known for her tireless work ethic, demonstrated through years of service at various factories within her hometown. Her colleagues in these workplaces will fondly remember Barbara’s cooperative spirit, quick wit, and the respect she effortlessly commanded.
As we bid farewell to Barbara Hewitt, we celebrate a life lived with gusto, grace, and an unshakable love for her family and friends. Her legacy is one of warmth, hard work, and the powerful impact of a life dedicated to nurturing relationships and fostering a sense of community. Barbara’s memory will continue to inspire and guide us all in the years to come.
