Breeding populations of armadillos are now in Indiana.
The U.S. Geological Survey reports armadillos colonizing in southeastern parts of the Hoosier state.
The nine-banded armadillos are spreading up the state, and have been spotted in central Indiana.
Experts say the first time the animal was reported in the state was in 2003.
