The schedule has been set for the coming 10 year-old Cal Ripken World Series. The games will be played on Joe Bilskie Senior Field, Earl Lawson Field, and Matt Minderman Field in the Cob League complex.
The two Vincennes teams will play pool games from Saturday, August ninth to Tuesday, August 12th. Both the Vincennes Green and Vincennes White teams will play back to back all four days.
On Saturday and Sunday, August 9th and 10th, the two teams will play at 11:15 and 1:30 on Earl Lawson Field, or the Blue diamond. On Saturday, the Vincennes Green team will start things with a game against Freetown/Laneville, Massachusetts. In the second game, the White team faces Newtown, Connecticut. On Sunday, the Green team plays Mineral Area, Missoui, with the White team playing next against Lineville, Alabama.
The Monday and Tuesday games, August 11th and 12th, the Vincennes teams will be on the Green diamond—or Joe Bilskie, Senior Field. Those games both nights will be at six pm and 8:15 pm. On Monday, the Vincennes White team plays Meridian, Idaho with the Green team playing a team from the Philippines. Tuesday, the Green team will play Yonden, Massachusetts, with the White team squaring off against a team from Germany.
After pool play ends, tournament action will stretch from Wednesday through Saturday, August 13-th to 16th. The World Series final will happen on Saturday afternoon, August 16th.
