First Indiana West Nile Case Found in Vanderburgh County

      The state’s first case of West Nile Virus for the 2025 season has been reported in a Vanderburgh County resident.
      Indiana reported 11 human WNV cases in 2024.
      Steps to prevent mosquito-borne diseases include:
•     Use insect repellent.
•     Wear protective clothing.
•     Install screens on windows and doors and keep them in good repair.
•     And Empty containers that hold water. Even a pool of water as small as a bottle cap can breed mosquitoes
