Today Begins Two Dollar Hike in Cigarette Taxes

Starting today, your packs of smokes will cost at least two dollars more per pack. That is due to a cigarette tax increase passed earlier t his year by the Indiana General Assembly.
Anti-smoking groups believe the new surcharge on smokes will help over 32-thosuand more people kick the habit. They also feel it will deter seven-thousand young people from starting to smoke. Many of those against smoking were a big part in helping shepherd the cigarette tax increase through the Legislature.
