Timothy Alvin “Tim” Lett, 72, of Oaktown, Indiana, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Tim was born in Vincennes, Indiana, to Ernie and Betty Lett. He graduated from Vincennes Lincoln High School, where he met Cathie, the love of his life. They were married for 54 years and built a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to each other and their family.
After high school, Tim proudly served in the United States Air Force. He went on to work at Crane Naval Weapons Support Center, where he was respected for his hard work, dedication, and integrity. Tim approached every part of his life with quiet strength and a sense of responsibility that inspired those around him.
Family was at the center of everything Tim did. He and Cathie raised three sons, and Tim was a devoted father who never missed a game, a school event, or a chance to be there for his boys. Later in life, becoming a grandfather brought him immense joy.
He loved cheering on his grandchildren, celebrating their achievements, and simply spending time with them, as well as those his grandchildren brought into his life.
Tim found happiness in life’s simple pleasures-working in his barn, fishing by the river, and traveling with Cathie, who was his partner in every adventure.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Cathie Lett; sons Matt (Cindy) and Jarrod (Jennifer); grandchildren Lynley, Hannah (Jason), Devin (Emma), Paige, Lilly, and Rylie; daughter-in-law Brandy (Jerry); and his brother, Mark Lett (Ann). He had several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernie and Betty Lett, and his beloved son, Kevin Lett.
Tim was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and much more whose commitment to family and integrity was evident in all he did. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory and the example he set will continue to guide and inspire those who were fortunate to know him.
There will be visitation on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 from 3:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt, Oaktown Chapel with a service immediately following at 6:00 P.M. conducted by the All Weather Firing Squad also at the Oaktown Chapel.
