The Vincennes Lincoln tennis team advances to the semifinal round of the Vincennes Tennis Sectional last night, defeating Rivet 5-0. The Alices will now face South Knox in one semifinal this afternoon; the other features Washington versus Washington Catholic. The sectional final is set for tomorrow.
At least three Knox County girls qualified automatically for regional competition, with their performances at the Girls’ Track Sectional last night at Princeton.
Rivet had two automatic regional qualifiers, as Rachael Jacqumain won both the 100 and 200 meter runs Also, Lissa Willis advanced with a third place in the high jump.
North Knox had one automatic regional qualifier, as Emma Telligman won the high jump competition. Vincennes Lincoln also send Greer Hardin, Alivia Eaton, and McKenna Poyser also advance to the Regionals. The girls’ track regional is set for Tuesday of next week at Evansville Central High School.
The Vincennes Lincoln softball team ended its regular season on a winning note, defeating Washington 9-4. The game was originally set to be played at Washington, but was moved at the last minute to Vincennes’ Four Lakes Park. Next up for the L-H-S softballers is a tournament matchup Tuesday night at Gibson Southern. They will either play the winner of the Gibson Southern-Princeton matchup; that will happen on Monday night of next week.
