Vincennes Watery Utilities officials are glad to say the City’s infrastructure is in good shape, following recent heavy rains and high river levels. In Vincennes, the Wabash topped out around 20 feet, four over flood stage.
Vincennes Water Utilities general manager Kirk Bouchie credits his staff and improved flood control maintenance for the success of the City’s response to flooding.
The highest waster in the recent flooding was on the White River. The White at both Edwardsport and Petersburg topped manor flood levels, with waters 10 to 12 feet over flood stage at both locations. Flooding continues to be a problem on botht he White River at Petersburg, and the Wabash at Mount Carmel.
