Billy Joe McGregor, a lifelong resident of Vincennes, Indiana, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 45 in Evansville, IN. Born on November 14, 1979, to Leroy Edward McGregor Sr. and Pamela “Boger” McGregor, Billy Joe carried the spirit of his hometown throughout his life.
A familiar face in the local community, Billy Joe graduated from high school in Vincennes, where his laughter and helpful hands made him a cherished classmate and friend. As a dedicated laborer, he worked with the kind of ethic and friendliness that left a lasting impact on all he worked alongside.
Billy Joe’s passion for fishing and football brought him immense joy, allowing him moments of peace and excitement in equal measure. His fondness for his cat showcased his tender side, opening his heart to the uncomplicated affection of his feline companion.
Described by all who knew him as kind, friendly, and handy, Billy Joe was the person you could always rely on for a smile, a favor, or a supportive shoulder. His knack for fixing things extended beyond the material, often mending the spirits of those around him with his gentle demeanor and approachable nature.
He is survived by his siblings Leroy Edward McGregor Jr. (Carla) of Vincennes, IN, and Jessica McGregor, of Vincennes, IN, his father and stepmother Leroy Edward McGregor Sr. (Donna), of Vincennes, IN, his mother Pamela McGregor, of Vincennes, IN, his uncles Mervin McGregor (Lisa) of Vincennes, IN, and Al Godfrey (Rose) of Vincennes, IN, and several cousins. His legacy of kindness will also live on through the stories and memories shared by his family and friends. Billy Joe was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Joy Catherine McGregor, and his maternal grandparents, Bill and Dorothy Boger. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered as a beacon of warmth in the hearts of those who knew him.
