Daniel Delmont Moore, a cherished son, brother, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 34. Born on October 20, 1990, in Sullivan, IN, to Bill Moore and the late Retha Doss, Daniel grew up in a loving family that he held dear to his heart all his life. His gentleness and sense of humor filled the lives of all who knew him with light and warmth.
Daniel was a proud graduate of Lawrenceville High School, class of 2009. Following his graduation, he dedicated himself to ensuring the safety of others in his role as a security guard, a job he performed with dedication and pride. Known for his ability to bring a smile to even the sternest of faces, Daniel made friends easily and was regarded as a kind and friendly presence in his community.
His leisure time was often spent at the water’s edge, fishing rod in hand, or in spirited competition with friends and family while playing his favorite video games. These simple pleasures were the heart of his personal joys, a testament to his appreciation for life’s precious moments.
Surviving are his father Bill (Stephanie “Stevie”) Moore of Oaktown IN; his siblings, David Morgan of Vincennes, IN, John (Cierra) Morgan of Robinson, IL, Amanda Thompson of Vincennes, IN, Olivia (Nate “Red” Mize) Morgan of Vincennes, IN, and Emily Kiefer of Washington, IN; his uncle Gary Moore of Billings, MT; and his aunt Deb (Steve) Shepard of Carlise, IN. He was preceded in death by his mother Retha Doss; grandparents Sully and Lois “Bousley” Miller, as well as Carl “Muskrat” and Mary “Morrison” Moore; and his aunts Cathy Doss and Paula Plummer.
