Once again this year, the City of Vincennes is considering a salary ordinance to continue improving the pay and conditions for Vincennes policemen. V-P-D chief Jon Hillenbrand praises the City leadership itself ffor its support in years when police work in many places wasn’t highly regarded. In recent years, that support also means a significant pay increase, to keep the department’s salaries competitive. Hillenbrand credits the City’s newest tax for the ability to better take care of his men.
The City has made marked increases to both police and fire salaries to keep them from heaving for other departments, due to higher pay rates.
