Sports Recap for Wednesday

Vincennes Lincoln got two runs in the top of the 6th and held on to surprise Class 4-A number seven Evansville North 2-1.  Big night for sophomore pitcher Brady Anderson, who went 6 and a third innings and scattered just four hits and struck out seven.  Raden Benson got the final two outs to get the save.  Will Hambrick had the game winning RBI as the Alices move to 11-4 on the season.
Kaden McKinney continued his terrific play this season as his homer in the 6th lifted South Knox past Barr-Reeve 1-0 to remain perfect in Blue Chip conference play.  Jacob Allen tossed another gem the Spartans, going the distance while allowing only three hits and striking out eight.  South Knox is 9-8 on the season.
The South Knox softball team trimmed Lawrenceville 4-3.  Freshman Brianna Benjamin picked up her first victory on the mound.  Jaelyn Grumieaux had two hits while Lily Culp hit her fourth homer of the year for the Lady Spartans.
The South Knox Tennis team blanked Wood Memorial 5-0.  Winning in singles play were Abby Cunningham, Alli Hayden and Grace Arnold.  Scoring wins in doubles play included Caroline Beard and Grace Carie and Reagan Harrington and Anna Provines.
South Knox track team defeated North Knox, North Daviess, and Barr-Reeve in a quad match at North Knox. The 4-by-100 relay team set a new school record in its victory.  Tucker Risley, Sam Theriac, Sam Singleton, and Jayden McIntire are members of that team.  Singleton and Risley won three individual event wins each, with Peterson and Theriac winning two individual events.  The 4 by 400 meter relay team was also a winner.
The IHSAA has released its sectional assignments for the next year.  The biggest eye opener takes place in 3-A football where Vincennes Lincoln shifts south to now be part of Sectional 32.  That sectional consists of Gibson Southern, Southridge, Evansville Memorial and Evansville Mater Dei, Heritage Hills, Mt Vernon and Princeton.
Also, on the Grid Iron, North Knox drops down to Class A Sectional 48 which consists of Forest Park,
Springs Valley, North Daviess, Perry Central, Tecumseh, Providence and South Spencer.
Lincoln welcomes Jasper and Gibson Southern back sectional 3- for to volleyball and boys basketball while Pike Central and Heritage
Hills move to other locations.  However, Gibson Southern will not be in the Alices girls basketball sectional based on their move to 4-A on the success factor.  One other note in Class A, Springs Valley moved to Sectional 64 after two years in sectional 63 with Vincennes Rivet

The Lincoln golf team hosts Evansville Christian at five.
South Knox Tennis team plays at Lincoln at 4:30.
The Rivet middle school baseball team beat Pike Central 7-3.  Tate Walker and William Holka had two hits for the Patriots.
Clark Middle School Boys Track Team dominated Loogootee 101-4.  Individual Double winners include Ethan Shoulders, Lovens Lorial, Brayden Sanders, and Carson McCormick.
Loogootee won the girls meet 55-50.  First place finishers were Brailyn Jewel in the 800, Kaylan Ozment in the 400.  Mia Fleetwood in the high jump, and Danikyn Boyett in the discus.
