The Vincennes City Council has approved on all three readings an amendment to clarify the City’s use of longevity pay. The amendment allows for police and fire officers returning to the City force within one year to do it at the same pay level they left. It also allows for similar arrangements to be made for lateral transfers to the City police and fire departments from a similar department from another city.
City Council members backed the ordinance as being good for the City and its police and fire departments. Council passed the amendment on all three readings unanimously.
