White River Falling from Moderate Flood Crest at Edwardsport

The White River is starting to top out and fall at various reporting stations in and around Knox County.
The White River at Edwardsport hit a high water mark of seven feet over flood stage yesterday.  It is now beginning to fall; it is forecast to be back below flood stage on Sunday. Downriver at Petersburg, the White is cresting just under 7 feet over flood stage.  It will stay steady through Saturday, before dropping rapidly below flood stage there on Monday evneing.
Flooding on the Wabash River hasn’t been quite as bad.  The Wabash at Vincennes will continue a slow drop from a foot over flood stage; it will be back below that level on Monday. At Mount Carmel, the river is three feet over flood stage; it is forecast to drop back below that level on Wednesday.
Finally, the Embarras River at Lawrenceville is below flood stage already and falling.  It will be four feet below that today, and still falling.
Drivers are reminded not to cross flooded roads.  Also, those in low-lying areas should continue highh-water practices for the next few days.
