Monday of next week is the expected day for occupation for the new Knox County Community Corrections facility. Prior to the move, there will be an open house for the building from 1 to 5 pm on Sunday.,
Much of the furnishings are either in place, or being moved to the new structure at the Old Decker Road location. The Community Corrections facility will be located in a separate facility close to the Knox County Jail.
The work-release inmates are in the current facility across 8th Street from the Courthouse. After they move to the Old Decker Road campus, County officials will consider re-purposing the 8th Street building for other office space.
