The Indiana Department of Transportation has awarded the maximum one and a half milllion dollars to Knox County for road work this coming summer. The award was released in a public session Wednesday morning in the Clay County community of Brazil.
The award is a half-million dollars more than was previously awarded.  Knox County Council president Rich Chattin says County crews are preparing the work areas for use of the expanded funding on those roads.  Chattin also knows preparation promotes project efficiency.
The County roads to get work are selected through the statewide PASER program.  That uses a scoring system to ensure the worst roads get the first repairs.
