Eclipse weekend is here, and Vincennes is ready for whatever crowds may come to experience Monday’s totality. The City of Vincennes, like other area cities, is holding various eclipse-related events throughout the weekend. One of the highlight events is the “Dark Side Bash” planned this weekend in downtown Vincennes.
Logistics is a worry with a good number of visitors expected this weekend. Eclipse coordinator Sara Wolfe says Van Go is prepared to assist with a fixed eclipse weekend route.
Vincennes will have just over four minutes of eclipse just after 3 pm Monday afternoon. After it’s over, Wolfe thinks a large problem will be getting crowds out of Vincennes, and on their way. Vincennes officials believe the key to a safe logistical process after the eclipse ends is patience. Motorists leaving Vincennes, or heading to homes in the city, are encouraged to factor extra time into their commutes.
