Today is the ceremonial Organization Day for the Indiana General Assembly in Indianapolis. The state legislature uses the day to prepare for the official start of their next session in January. Jasper State Senator Mark Messmer reminds everyone this is a short– or non-budget related– session of the Legislature.
State lawmakers in both the Indiana House and Senate have considered some issues in study committees. Messmer says he and other lawmakers will now apply what they have learned in those study sessions.
Once again this coming year, Republicans have super majorities in both the Indiana Senate and House.
