With the holiday season upon us, the Indiana State Police is teaming up with law enforcement agencies nationwide to ensure everyone reaches their holiday destinations safely. Unfortunately, statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reveal a significant increase in impaired driving and fatal crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday.
During the 2021 holiday travel period, which spanned from the day before Thanksgiving to the Monday after Thanksgiving, Indiana State Police recorded 190 fatalities nationwide in crashes caused by alcohol-impaired driving.
