Indiana’s unemployment rate stands at 4.1% for December, according to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development. The rate is four-tenths a of percent below the national rate of 3-1/2%.
The state’s labor force participation rate is steady at 63.2% in December. That is just under a percent higher than the national average. Private sector jobs were up about 4,600 from last month; that means the state ended the year with over 54,000 new jobs created. The largest increase was in the area of trade, transportation, and health services.
