Vincennes Sports Update for Friday, 6/17

(Schenck shoots 70 at U.s. Golf Open)

South Knox and Purdue University star Adam Schenk shot an even par 70 , after the first round of the U.S. Open at the Country Club in

Brookline, Massachusetts.  Schenk had five birdies, one bogey and two double bogeys and is tied for 26th heading into Fridays

second round.  Canadian Adam Hadwin leads with a four under 66.


(Rogers  to play Volleyball at V-U)

Former North Knox standout Mallory Rogers has signed to play Volleyball at Vincennes University next fall.  Rogers help

guide the Lady Warriors to a 20-9 record last season while being the teams defensive specialist.  She finished the season with 360 digs

and earned All Blue Chip Conference honors.

(IHSAA State Baseball Finals Start  Tonight)


The Indiana High School state finals get underway tonight at Victory field in Indianapolis.  At 5:30 …The 2-A championship

will feature 21-5 Centerville against 21-7 Illiana Christian.  The 3-A Title game is set for eight and has 26-4 Brebeuf Jesuit taking

on 30-4 Andrean.


On Saturday…The Class A championship has 19 p-12 Tecumseh playing 26-6 Lafayette Central Catholic and the 4-A matchup pits

18-10 Cathedral and 25-6 Penn.
