Vincennes Board of Works Approves New Stoplight at Washington and St. Clair

The Vincennes Board of Works has approved the bid of Ragle Construction for a new stoplight at Washington and Saint Clair.  The original stoplight at the intersection was destroyed in a recent accident. Ragle Construction won the contract with a bid of $ 48,117.50.

The purchase will be covered by the insurance company of the person responsible for the accident.  Vincennes Mayor Joe Yochum believes the need for bids was triggered by the insurance company responsible.

Installation of the new stoplight will happen in the days and weeks to come.

In other business, the Board approved a couple of upcoming events. The first is the Vincennes YMCA St. Patrick’s 5-K run on March 20th.  The other is the springtime DeWig Ribfest to be held on Saturday, April 24th.  All the motions were approved unanimously.
