A revenue increase by Duke Energy has been lowered by 60 percent, in a decision released by the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission.
The final revenue increase granted by the I-U-R-C is 146 million dollars, rather than 362 million dollar revised request made by Duke Energy. The increase will be phased in through two stages.
Further, the Commission approved a settlement agreement allowing the cost recovery for construction of the Edwardsport plant into the base rates of consumers. The statement also confirmed the importance of the Edwardsport coal-gasification facility, as coal-fired plants are retired and non-coal units take their place.
