“Never been stronger.” That is the assessment of Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb to the State of the State as part of last night’s address to the General Assembly.
A large part of the speech called for lawmakers to make extra school funding available for schools to use for extra teacher pay, if they desire. The Governor says the state has provided extra education funding to schools in the last three years—and that it won’t stop there. The Governor also promoted the state’s lowest unemployment rate since 2001.
Governor Holcomb also pushed for a law to require all those using cell phones in vehicles to do it “hands free.” That requirement is facing some rough waters in the Indiana General Assembly at this time.
