A Wabash Valley Correctional Facility officer was arrested yesterday on a charge of trafficking tobacco with an inmate, and for official misconduct. 59 year-old James DiGiacomo was found with a large amount of tobacco in his possession. The illegal tobacco was alleged to be for an inmate in violation of prison regulations.
DiGiacomo was booked into the Sullivan County Jail. He is expected to be suspended without pay while the case is further investigated. The incident happened on the fifth anniversary of DiGiacomo’s hiring by the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility.
