Several area bands will head to Indianapolis tomorrow to compete in the I-S-S-M-A Marching Band contest. The schools will complete in groups of ten—from Class A through Class D—at Lucas Oil Stadium in downtown Indianapolis.
Vincennes Lincoln’s Pride of the Green will be one of the bands performing tomorrow. Their show “Oculus” will be performed at three-20 tomorrow afternoon at Lucas Oil Stadium. L-H-S will be the ninth of the ten bands performing in the Class C final.
One Southwest Indiana band—Castle—will perform in Class A. In Class B, the area bands include Northview, Evansville North, Evansville Harrison, Evansville Reitz, and Jasper. Along with the Pride of the Green, the other area Class C bands include Princeton and Mount Vernon. The Class D area bands are Paoli, Tell City, Evansville Mater Dei, Forest Park, Springs Valley, and Southridge.
The Class B bands will compete first, starting at ten a-m. The competition will last for over 12 hours, with the last Class A band performing at ten-15 p-m. Awards ceremonies will follow each classes’ performances.
