(ST.LOUIS, MO) Dakota Hudson threw a career high seven innings, winning his fifth consecutive start, and the Cardinals offensive provided seven runs of support, as St. Louis throttled Miami 7-1. Hudson allowed only one run on four hits while walking two and striking out six. The run support began in the top of the second when Harrison Bader’s RBI Triple to center scored Kolten Wong. Miami responded two innings later with a RBI Single from Miguel Rojas that scored its only run of the game in Harold Ramirez. The Cardinals answered in the top of the sixth when Paul Goldschmidt scored on a throwing error and then later in the inning when Bader’s RBI Walk scored Marcell Ozuna. Then in the top of the eighth, St. Louis padded their lead with an RBI Single from Dexter Fowler and a two run RBI Single by Jose Martinez. The scoring ended in the top of the ninth with Ozuna’s 18th home run of the season.
