Pantheon Theater to Steam Ahead After Tuesday’s Election

With the results of Tuesday’s elections in, the Pantheon Theater project will steam ahead. The theater was a major campaign issue in Tuesday’s general elections. However, with Pantheon supporters all either elected or re-elected to office, at this time, Knox County will not pull its funding for the project. The plan is to renovate the building into a business incubator known as the “Pantheon Business Theater.”
Knox County Commissioners’ president Kellie Streeter was one of those re-elected on Tuesday. Streeter says the Pantheon work will stay on track– but she stopped short of calling Tuesday’s vote a “mandate” to do the work…

Streeter also calls the Pantheon debate just so much election discussion…

One group that did meet yesterday was the Pantheon Business Theater Board. The Board got their first look at the plans for the building at yesterday’s session. They also set their next meeting for December 4th at four-30, rather than their normal 3 p-m meeting time.
