Every Memorial Day weekend, the Spirit of Vincennes, Inc. and the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park (GRCNHP) work together to host the annual Rendezvous, a living history event that commemorates the city’s Revolutionary War history.  This year is the 42nd  annual Rendezvous, it will be held on May 26^th and 27^th.  One of the special programs within the Rendezvous is the annual Photo Contest which is organized by the George Rogers Clark National Historical Park and the Vincennes Historical and Antiquarian Society.  These photos capture the best of the event and are used by the organization for promotion and advertising.  Contest entries often turn up in magazines, brochures, and other media.  The photos must be taken during this year’s event and must depict Rendezvous happenings.  There are several different categories including: Best of Show ($300 prize), Best Human Interest ($150), Best Military ($100), Best 18^th Century Fair ($100), Best People of the Rendezvous ($50 gift certificate), Best Photo Youth Category ($20 gift certificate), Best Youth Military ($10 gift certificate), Best Youth 18^th Century ($10 gift certificate), and Five Honorable Mentions ($10 gift certificates).  The registration fee is $12 and payable at the GRCNHP Visitor Center.

     Registration for the contest begins Monday, May 21^st  at the George Rogers Clark NHP Visitor Center.  The competition begins on Friday, May 25^th and ends after evening colors on Saturday, May 27^th.  Each photographer will be able to submit up to five digital photos.  Judging will take place Sunday, May 27^th.  There will be a program open to the public featuring all of the photos entered into the contest held Sunday at 4 p.m. at the National Park Service visitor center auditorium.
