Vincennes University’s Board of Trustees have increased the purchasing power of its vice president of finance. The approval allows the financial officer to spend between 500-thousand and one million dollars on property purchases without prior Board approval. The previous approval allowed for property acquisitions between 100-thousand and 500-thousand dollars. The move was first approved by the University Budget and Finance Committee.
Also, the Board gave final approval to some curriculum changes requested by Provost Laurel Smith. The move was part of a recommendation that also called for changes in the University faculty E-Mail policy. The new policy requires faculty to respond to student E-mail questions within 48 hours of receiving the correspondence. Both items were approved by the University Affairs Committee; they were also approved by the full V-U Board.
